Okay, before starting of with the review . I’d like you to know that I’m a great Miyazaki(the creator)/Studio Ghiblir fan. So the following review may tend to sound over positive.
A 13 year old witch named Kiki ,along with her cat Jiji, decides that it is time to leave home to start her individual training as a witch. She is baffled by what to do and where to begin with. After literaly stumbleing apon a little sea side town she tries looking for her talent.
That is all that I’m going to reveal about the story. If I reveal more than that , you might aswell skip the movie and just read the review. So to compensate for that I’ll expand more about the movie itself. This movie being relatively old(1998 DVD version) radiates its beauty in a few differant ways.
One of these ways is the great and noticable effort in the animation. The animation always goes a little bit further then what usual animation would do.
An example would be : *The main character opening the door of a car*(this is just an example, not necisarily in the anime) .This animation would usually be avoided by cutting the scene and starting the next scene already in the car. In Kiki’s delivery service it would rather show how the door handel gets pulled, the swing of the door with matching sound. All this without focusing on the door but rather the characters and dialogue.Another way it radiated its beauty is by the lead role.
A detirmined young female that won’t give up no matter what the odds. This of course showing that females leads can be more/equally powerfull as a male leadrole. This also ties into the character development of Kiki. Like every person discovering a new life , you’ll find it to be quite an emotional rollercoaster. Kiki’s life is no exception , even though I am a male there is still a lot of areas where I can relate to.

The English dubbed version isn’t bad, except for the voice of Jiji. Luckily Jiji’s voice stops about halfway through. Kiki’s voice was done by Kirsten Dunst.
So to wrap it up , Kiki’s is a good anime that is filled with inspiration. Kiki’s will be enjoyed by those that is very open minded. For those that is looking for pure action will be need to find is elsewhere.
Like always my main question is : Is this entertaining? – Yes, it is.
