xbox360fanboy.com released a rumour stating that a source told them that Halo 4 is currently in development by Gearbox. the previous Halo titles were developed by Bungie Studios so it is a rather risky rumour.

But with that said Gearbox at the begining of the year claimed that they are working on a project bigger then what they’ve ever worked on before. So Halo4 is a possibility.

Also if that isn;t enough according to OXM Halo4 will be released with a new Xbox console!!!!

Let’s first see if anyone confirms anythign before getting excited(even though most of you already are). :D

ANN reported yesterday that there is a confirmed new Full Metal Alchemist tv series on the way. This comes after a management document has been leaked by the Bones anime studio.

If this is true it would be awesome. It could also be that they are wrong since Bones president claims that no such document exsisted in their company.

So if this is true there are a few questions that needs to be answered.

First where will the series take off? Will it be at the end of the 1st series or the movie. Or will it be a completely new story line. There are so much possibilities. I’m a really big fan of FMA and it will be for me probably the most anticipated anime ever. More news on this soon I hope.

“Update : It appears that it is true. There is definatly a new FMA series on its way.

According to Eurogamer , Codemaster is currently busy developing a racing game of scale never seen before. After claiming to have an area roughly the size of 5000 squared miles!! That is roughly 13,000 squared Kilometres! They also added that there will be no boundaries.

The game ,titeled FUEL , is set in the present. Not the present that we know today, but a more apocolyptic version.

Weather is also said to play a role. It will even include tornados and other storms. It will boast a 16player capability(rather lacking for a map size that big eh?) and also feature day/night rotation.

I can’t seem to find any screenshots of the game so far but as soon as I find I’ll share with you all.

So since I’m not posting so often thesedays I thought I’d let you all know what games I’m busy playing and I’ll also make a list of the anime I’m busy watching.

PC:
F.E.A.R. - This game might look old but it is so fun to play in a dark room with the speakers turned up. Also with project origin in development , this game will keep me fed untill release date.

Xbox360:
GTA IV - I am slowly starting to progress in the game. It was a really slow start for me but now things are starting to look up for the game in my opinion.

Viva Pinata - Okay so I’m not giving this game a lot of concentration, but the times that I put it in the console I end up playing for hours.

Forza 2 - One of the best racing games I’ve ever played.

Soul Caliber IV - Okay so the game isn’t grasping me as much as I expected but the character creation is enough to keep me playing it again and again.

Nintendo DS:

Final Fantasy XII - Really fun when travelling but it does get frustratingly difficult.

Pokemon Pearl - Gotta catch em all right?

Prey 2

Today I was thinking back on the game prey. An innovative FPS that I thoroughly enjoyed. If you’re one of the people that’s played Prey untill the finish you would probably remember a message hinting at a sequel?
so I went and did a little bit of searching around and found this…

Prey 2

The follow up to “Action Game of the Year” (PC Gamer), reprise your role as Tommy, the native warrior who saved Earth from alien invasion in Prey. This time, abandoned and framed for the disappearance of his family and girlfriend, Tommy escapes an Earth that no longer wants him for a future that cannot survive without him. Building on the mind-bending portal and gravity-defying gameplay of the original with several innovative new twists, Prey 2 promises to once again take players into a compelling science-fiction world with breathtaking visuals and adrenaline-pumping action gameplay. Prey 2 is currently being developed in cooperation with Human Head studios and slated for Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

Or so they say. There is little released about the game and very little is known. They also claimed it will not take as long to develop as the first prey but it is seriously looking like it is going to take that long.
I’m not saying it is a bad thing. Effort and time into a games development is important but c’mon HumanHead studios give us a sign that the development is still alive.

So what would you like to see from Prey2? I would like to see a more horrorish setting and perhaps a little town down of the colours. New (and improved please) weapons would also make me feel warm inside. Also one last thing they should add is ammo. It was a struggle for me in Prey to find ammo and I would like some more.
All right enough about my wants, what would you want to see?

I just thought I’d share these few pictures with my loyal and new readers.

Sonic is happy because he didnt read reviews

Sonic is happy because he didn't read reviews

Slow down on those reviews.

Yes you read correct. Stop relying on reviews to tell you if a game is good or not. Reading reviews is still good but only do it as a last resource. This does seem odd coming from someone that writes reviews.

There are various reasons why one should be cautious when reading reviews. Lets start with something that I’ve noticed that is becoming a popular trend with reviewers all over the show. Yes even the proffesionals on those gaming websites and gaming magazines. It is the score. Don’t even look at that deceiving digits. These days either a game gets a ridiculously large score if the reviewer briefly enjoys the game or a really low score if there is a bug that is only spotted while doing a backflip into a volcano filled with pirates which you would anyway not do in the actual game. Have you not noticed this trend lately and it is becoming particularly annoying especially when it comes to purchasing an expensive game.

Let’s take an example of Grand Theft Auto IV. It isn’t a bad game, but it certaintly isn’t a perfect game that was claimed as an average score from large gaming websites. GTA IV in my opinion is far from perfect, I’ll even say something bold and claim that San Andreas was a better game.

Another point in reviews is that the game a reviewer plays is usually a game in the genre of their liking and if it isn’t then you can most certainly await that bad review.

So how are you , the buyer supposed to know a good game from a bad game? We’ll firstly I would suggest trying to play the game first before purchasing. A lot of places offers rentals for various games. If you cannot find the a full version then don’t fear the demo. Demo’s are mostly pretty accurate in terms of enjoyment. A lot of games getting released also has demos online. If they don’t have a demo and if you cannot find a way of playing the game before purchase, only then should you resort to reviews.

When reading reviews , try to find a source to stay loyal to. To do that go google for a few web sites that offers reviews of a game that you’ve lready played. See if you agree with that review.  Then try to stay loyal to that source of reviews so that you start to see the habits of the different reviewers to pick up whether they are bull shitting you or not. If you can manage to do this on various sources then it will even be better.

So don’t even bother looking at a score, read a review from a trusted source and have fun. Also another note I’d like to add is a lot of reviews are based on games that the reviewer has only plays for a few hours. Shocking but true. This can’t possibly show a person how good the game is or not.

IF magazine reported yesterday that there is a live action Cowboy Bebop movie on its way.

20th Century Fox has received the rights to remake Cowboy bebop into a Live-Action. It is not known what storyline the movie will follow but here is hoping that it will be its own story instead of ruining what I already view as one of the bests.  The movie is being developed by Erwin Stoff who is Keanu reeves managing agent. So the odds of Keanu playing spike is pretty good.

Having barely completing Naruto : Rise of a Ninja(Roan) there was an announcement at E3 from the Ubisoft Montreal studio. The sequal for Roan is on its way. And if that isn’t enough, it is expected end November 2008!!

The game(titeld the broken bond or BB) will take of straight after the events in Roan. And is said to continue untill the end of the Naruto series(just before shipuuden). This is not a bad thing in my opinion. the more story the longer the game.

In BB you will start of as a Hero in the Konoha village and will already have a lot of respect among the village.

The game will now retract from the focus on naruto and will feature a who squad that travells together giving you the ability to play as any of them during any part of the game. This will not only feature in the freeroaming aspect but as well in the fighting matches. In a tag team styled fight it allows for up to 3 fighters in a match per side.

There is more characters(25 characters apparently) and more Jutsus even allowing the player to perform these jutsus in the air. In addition to this the open world free roam area has also been greatly increased. After the events in the last game , the villagers will eventually need your help to repair the village to its former glory.

while looking at the screen shots it is noticeable that they’ve added HDR lighting.  In my honest opinion this should not have happend. Naruto roan looked good the the way it was. It looked like anime. The moment they start adding these realism effects the game will look less like what the anime did. And if that is the case then what is the point?

Naruto : Rise of a ninja ( Xbox360)

Genre: RPG + VS Fighter

Developer : Ubisoft Montreal

Naruto: Rise of a Ninja(Roan) is a game following the early stages of the popular anime Naruto. As the title suggest the game follows a young boy in a quest to become a ninja and ultimately the hokage(leader) of the Village hidden in the leaves.

The story follows pretty close to the actual anime with a few noticeable differences. The story is rather good in the anime but it somehow fails to be portrayed good in the game. With little focus on characters and story and more focus on game play it will leave fans of the series with an unshakable hunger. Even though Naruto does progress in terms of ability and strength the game fails to show how Naruto progress in a more emotional level.

Roan is also a rather short game that stops right after the Chuunin exams. Getting to the end of the game can either be real quick or really long, depending on how you handle your missions. If you decide to take all the side quests then you can increase the games life with at least a few hours. If you choose to only do the main missions you can easily finish the game in a day or two.

So there is two main games with in Roan. Firstly being the fighting game where as in any arcade fighter you are entered onto a level or arena and you have to fight of the enemy. The other part of the game features a lot more mini-games. This sends you to do missions for various people in the village. There are a handful of mini games to keep you busy and it is also well balanced in the sense of when you get tired of a certain game you can attempt something else.

You start of in an open world environment where you can run around the village and leap from rooftop to rooftop. Once you get faster you’ll find it a tad annoying that you crash into walls a lot when not slowing down at points. Because when you crash Naruto gets dizzy and takes a while to get ready for action.

The control scheme for the fights in my opinion is awe full but it works great in the same sentence. Awful because you only have 2 main attack buttons where as in other fighters you have 4(kick and punch, high and low). Yet with only 2 buttons it does make life a little bit easier for the player.

The game in completely cell shaded and does look good. It still looks awkward here and there but who cares when it is cell shaded anyway?

The one thing that really bugs me the most about this game is the lack of characters. Especially in the fighting sections. Half of the characters you’d expect to be there isn’t there and it really is a shame for such an entertaining game to fall short on at this point.

If I look past that I definitely think it was the money worth but I would only recommend it to people who have seen the anime. Since the story might seem confusing to newcomers.
